BIG!

Yes. I know you'll laugh at me for this but in my 36 hours of being home in this fortnight I am prioritising a post on my blog. Just laugh now and get it over with. For those of you who have no idea what I'm talking about, I've been at the prom since last Friday and came back for the big day out yesterday. And what a big day it was. We started off with a champagne breakfast in an apartment across the road from the park and even though the day was about the music that lindauer fraise was going down a treat, add to that pancakes and McReynolds' muffins it was a great way to put me in stead for the day ahead. Everything I saw was awesome! Singing along to Franz Ferdinand, listening eyes closed to The Mars Volta, rocking out to Kings of Leon, dancing up a storm to Too Many DJ's at the end of the night. I wish you had been there for that one Dalm. Your swollen throat may not have enjoyed all the steam coming off those sweaty, sweaty bodies though. Soooo hot, needed to stop for many drinks breaks, but beers were $6 and better drinks $9! (I saw Carbsy on my first drinks adventure and he asked if we talked about him on girls night, so here you are I'll mention you in my blog too. Bet you feel special now.) Luckily Andrew brought in a bottle of tequila which went quite well with the mars volta's set and kept me going for the rest of the night. Even with the amount of water I drank all day too I only had to go into that horrible queue for the toilets twice the whole time I was there. All that liquid just came out hrough my skin with all the sweat. Euwww!
So it's back home to the prom now for another week, then back to see Dalm, Rob and Mel come home on Sunday. If anyone has dodged an invite- party at Mel's Sunday afternoon.
See you there kiddoes

I know I'm biased, but I really think Sean Preston is a cutie.

The Bud

This weekend contained the funniest single thing I have ever seen in my life. Still now when I think about it I don't just have a quiet chuckle, or even a bit of a giggle, but a hearty belly shaking laugh. After an unexpectedly huge night on Friday at the Corner for Tom's birthday- Happy Birthday Tom- Mark decides he has to pick us up at 8 am to get to the market before we head down to Rosebud for his birthday. So hung as and on hardlt any sleep we made it to the market, via Monty's place, everyone in the car bar Mark had been out the night before so we were all feeling quite fragile, not least of all Lil' Wellsy, so for someone to yell at him "Chris look out!" would have been shock enough, but to look up and see a boom gate bearing down on him was too much to handle. He started to duck, but hen realised that wouldn't be enough. He eventually ended up lying ont he ground with his hands covering his face as if he was being borne down by a finger of God. IT WAS HILARIOUS! Not just us but everyone around us cracked up and he got heckled by the trolley hire guy. After that we all felt much better, but we still didn't make it to Rosebud till about 1.30. Longest car trip to the peninsula ever. Luckily the weekend was worth it. Happy Birthday Mark.

Did someone say party?

Or maybe just drunk. It sure seemed that way to me on Sunday. It was just too hot and sunny and summery to be sober- don't you think? I had a ball anyway. Happy birthday Stubbs. So good to see my girls all together that night too, even if by that stage I didn't have much to contribute. I caught the last train home from Clifton Hill, which I hadn't done in ages, and fell asleep, which I never do on the train. Luckily a nice boy thought to wake me up before my stop. And luckily he was very nice and unthreatening, unlike the guy who decided to show us his balls on Brunswick St. That was really gross, but I couldn't help thinking that it was something one of you guys would do, although not to complete strangers I admit.

Censorship

Only 'cos you asked so nicely Mr. Finch. I hope you realise what this does to my credibility as a blogger though.

Welcome Home

Well, I'm back from my holiday at Thurra. One day back at work down already, only two weeks and one day of work till it's off to the Prom. I hope everyone had a great Chrissy, wherever they were in the world, and that all your New Years' celebrations were suitably large. It's been good to get out of the old routine and have a break, but it means I've neglected this site a bit. It's always hard to remember stuff to write about when I haven't written for a while. Let's give it a go though shall we?

It's seems I left off just before Christmas so we'll start from there. Kick ass marquee party at my place on the eve of the eve. Hot as hot all night, till I think the rain started about 1ish or something (I don't know, my Mum's punch was involved somewhere along the line). The marquee then provided perfect shelter for us all. I said I would be happy if the thing lasted Meredith and Christmas, so it's job was done. The next day it was attacked by the wind though, and two poles busted bent. Looks like it's off to Ray's to look for some new ones, I think these are beyond repair. A highlight was definitely Krap Kringle. Gee some of you guys are hilarious!Especially you Laurie.

Christmas was a fun day. It turns out I don't have a problem with the whole "spend the day with he family" business. Maybe that's just because I missed the crap part of the family by being in Meredith for those celebrations. Breakfast was at Wells' with the traditional Kris Kringle, then I pushed on to a face painting gig at what used to be Sheraton Towers. The most extravagant buffet I have ever seen. I felt like I was in the OC living it up with all the hob nobs of Melbourne. It probably wasn't actually that expensive, Ive just never been to anything like that before. They even had a chocolate fountain with marshmallows for dipping! And I got paid to be there, eat their food and paint about 10 faces.

From there I drove straight to Daylesford to Sandy's place with Dad's side of the family, heaps of food again, and wine and moustaches and cigars. Stayed there over night then the next morning drove home then straight on to Thurra. All up I think it was nine hours in the car. Hella long. Luckily I had my sister and all her (at times infuriating) games to keep me occupied. The time just seemed to fly right by.

From Thurra I did not move for a whole week. A whole week of the most amazing beach weather, swimming, relaxing, walking, duneing. Croajingalong has the biggest dune system south of the border, or something to a much grander effect. This massive dune, about 800m high at best estimates, dives straight down into the pooling river. A short yoga break as we reached the summit overland from the bush then tumbling and jumping and rolling and fighting our way to the bottom, and into the river to cool off and try to get rid of some of the sand that, unfortunately, mainly accumulates in your crack. Crass I know, but it's the truth.

New Years' was a hoot down there, making donuts around the fire and the traditional cry of "DAY-O, DA-A-AY-O". And after midnight down to the bridge to watch the stars. So hung over on New Years Day though, not helped by the fact that it was about a bazillion degrees at 7am. Guh. It makes me want to vomit just thinking about it.

Now I'm home and back to work. Liz is cracking the whip. I have to go meet her at the pub for a beer now. That is if she can get in. Apparently there was an "incident" last week. Oh Liz.
